Rules & Regulation
The library is intended to foster research and advanced study and will ordinarily be open to all bonafide students, teachers, research scholars, general public and employees of Central Library Netaji Mahavidyalaya
Rules For The Members
- The following person shall be regarded as members of the Central library of Netaji mahavidyalaya.
a. Teachers of Netaji Mahavidyalaya.
b. Students Netaji Mahavidyalaya.
c. Retire teachers of Netaji Mahavidyalaya.
d. Non –teaching staff of Netaji Mahavidyalaya. - Person other than category (a),(b) & (d) item 1 are regarded as casual members and may be permitted to consult the library as casual members an may be permitted to consult the library under special permission by the Hon. Librarian/ Principal.
- They will be allowed to borrow three books at a time for a period of Fifteen days and a fine of 50 paise per day per book will be charged on the late receipt of the book.
- Retired teachers of of Netaji Mahavidyalaya may be the member of the Central library on recommendation of Principal of College on a security of Rs. 300.00 only which will be refundable. They will be allowed to borrow One books at a time for a period of sixty days failing which they will be charged a fine of 50 paise per day per book.
- Students
- a. Post – graduate students of Netaji Mahavidyalaya may be the member of the Central library on the recommendation of the Principal/ Librarian. He/ She will be allowed to borrow three books at a time for a period of 15 days failing which a fine of 50 paise per day per book will be charged. He/ She will deposit Rs. 00.00 (GB) as library Caution money.
- b. Undergraduate students of Netaji Mahavidyalaya may be the members of the Central library on recommendation of Principal/ Librarian. He will deposit Rs. 00.00 (GB) as library caution money. He/ She will be allowed to borrow Three books at a time period of 15 days failing which He/ She will be charged a fine of 50 paise per day per book.
General Rules
- Library timings
10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. Sunday & All Government Holidays. Off. - Responsibility of Damaged Books. Member of the Central library are required to examine the books or the periodicals at the time of receiving them and must report any damage to the books and periodicals to the Counter Assistant failing which he will be held responsible for such damage.
- Violation of library rules.If any member is found guilty of not following the rules of the library or including in any indiscipline in the library, his membership may be cancelled by the following authorities. Students by the Librarian, Teachers & Employee by the Principal.
- Entrance in stack room.Teachers are allowed to enter the Stack room to select the books physically. Students may be allowed to enter the stack room with due permission of the Librarian. Other consulting members are not allowed to enter the stack room unless specially allowed by the Librarian.
- Reservation of books.Members may put reservation for a book , If he fails to borrow a particular book after continuous offers.
- Book lost.In case the book lost by the member of the library, he was to pay the cost of the book and fine as may be decided by the authorities of the library . It depends upon the nature of the book lost. If , it is a rare book and not easily available, ten times of the cost can be charged along with fine. In case the book is damaged or pages are cut or defaced in any way, he is liable to pay the cost of the book or has to replace the same edition with the permission of the Librarian.
- Reissue of books.Books may be reissued to the members on the day of the return if they are not in demand by members. But books will be re- issued unless that are physically returned to the library and not demanded or reserved by any other members.
- Reprographic facilities.Central library is equipped with Photostat machine. Member of the library are allowed to avail these facilities on payment..
- Card lost.In case the membership card is lost, the borrower will be required to make a deposit of Rs. 00.00/-and give a under taking of responsibility of the book issued on the pervious card, if any.
- Refund of Caution Money.Caution Money deposited by the member may be refunded on producing the library card along with the prescribed from duly filled up and countersigned by the Principal. The members of the library can get the refund of their caution money within five years after coading of the membership. If any members do not claim for the refund of the caution money during this period, the deposit will lapse.
- Rare and out of print books.The books marked Reserved, Rare, out of print or restricted books, will not be issued to any member of the library, they can be consulted in the Reading room of the library only.
- Torn Pages.It is the duty of the borrower to check the book and its pages at the time of getting it issued in his name. if any page is found missing from the book or found defaced , the member will have to replace the book. Otherwise the cost of the book will be fixed according to rule.
Membership For General Public
Its rule was passed after the recommendation by Librarian letter dt. 00/00/0000 and its passed in Governing Body Resolution No. 00/00 and Principal order dated 00/00/0000 passed that is “Library is open for General People those who are not student, teacher/ retired teacher, colleges employee”. Under some rules and regulations.
1. They should deposit a refundable security of Rs. 00/-
2. The Books worth Rs. 00/- will be issued.
3. Books will be issued for the period of one month only.
4. Over due fine will be charged as per library rules.
5. Registration form/ card will be signed by librarian.
6. The Annual fee would be Rs. 00/- per annum.
